Krishanu Sankar

Scientist

Krishanu is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Mathematics at the University of British Columbia. He received his B.S. in mathematics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and his Ph.D. in mathematics from Harvard University under the supervision of M. Hopkins. In his thesis, he computed the equivariant Steenrod algebra for odd-primary cyclic groups, motivated by applications in homotopy theory and geometry. Outside of his work at 1QBit, Krishanu loves to explore nature and challenge his limits. He is an avid runner, cyclist, hiker, and rock climber. He loves music, and hums incessantly when he’s been away from the piano for too long. He is also involved with various math education programs and loves working with students.
