Yongchao Tang

Quantum Information Scientist

Before joining 1QBit, Yongchao was a Postdoctoral Fellow of the Institute for Quantum Computing and the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Waterloo. His research is focused on the quantum error correction in quantum annealing and quantum circuit model. Yongchao is trained as a theoretical quantum physicist with experience in low-temperature experiments. He holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Physics and Artificial Intelligence from Shanghai Jiaotong University. He then received his Masters of Science and PhD in Physics and Electrical and Computer Engineering in quantum information after studying at the Tsinghua University and the University of Waterloo. In his PhD thesis, under the supervision of David Cory and Guo-xing Miao, he developed a robust surface code against fabrication defaults and improved superconducting quantum computing with novel material.
