Gili Rosenberg graduated from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev with an undergraduate degree in Physics and went on to earn his Ph.D. in Physics from UBC. After graduation, Gili cycled across Central America and, upon returning to Vancouver, he spent the summer hiking and biking, volunteering as a pick leader with the Vancouver Fruit Tree Project, and networking. This led to a serendipitous meeting with 1QBit’s founders, and shortly thereafter Gili became one of 1QBit’s first team members.

Shengru Ren credits her background in engineering for steering her to develop her pragmatic side, but her outspoken personality is all her own. Never shying away from addressing things she does not agree with, Shengru’s willingness to bring her unique perspective to the table has been one of her most valuable attributes at 1QBit, where she works in the position of Lead, Research in the Hardware Innovation Lab. Her pragmatic approach ensures that she can set realistic goals and create products that work as intended.

Andrew Milne, from Physics to Fintech

Andrew Milne immigrated from England to Canada as a child. He grew up partly in Toronto and partly in Vancouver. He began his studies in Computing Science at Simon Fraser University but later transferred to the University of British Columbia (UBC) to obtain his bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
