1QBit becomes a member of Quantum City

October 20, 2026 – Quantum City

1QBit is proud to join Quantum City as a member, formalizing a relationship that has been growing since their launch in 2022. Based at the University of Calgary, Quantum City is building the fabrication infrastructure, talent programs, and adoption pathways that will turn quantum technology into real-world solutions. They are catalyzing the quantum ecosystem across Alberta, a province that shaped the academic careers of four senior 1QBit team members, whose ties there remain strong. An active part of Quantum City’s community, 1QBit participates in their ecosystem events such as the annual qConnect summit. We have exhibited at the conference, and our CEO, Andrew Fursman, has been an invited speaker.

Joining Quantum City’s new membership program will ensure 1QBit stays connected to the ecosystem and will open the door to opportunities that Quantum City is uniquely positioned to facilitate. We look forward to being part of Quantum City’s continued momentum and emerging opportunities. As a pioneering quantum computing software company with expertise applicable to other areas of quantum technology (e.g., sensing), 1QBit complements Quantum City’s diverse membership and Alberta’s quantum ecosystem.

“We’ve watched Quantum City grow into one of the most energetic forces behind quantum industry and ecosystem development in the country,” said Andrew Fursman, CEO of 1QBit. “We’re thrilled to be part of it, and to find ways to use our expertise and software to the advantage of its initiatives.”
