Simon studied physics at Université de Sherbrooke and deep learning at Mila in Montreal. His research focused mainly on transport in high-temperature superconductors and computational methods for strongly correlated electrons. Simon believes that making quantum computing accessible to researchers in machine learning promises to challenge their current paradigms and unlock new avenues toward artificial intelligence.
Simon loves to organize events and participate in committees and organizations to contribute to his community. When time allows, he likes reading, hiking, kayaking, biking, and taking long walks with his dog.
